Louisiana Lavender House (LLH) is a veteran-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. We are committed to supporting all veterans and their families, with a focused mission to provide specialized services for female veterans, who often face overlooked challenges during and after their transition from military to civilian life.
We offer personalized, hands-on support that includes:
- Navigating and applying for VA disability and health benefits
- Connecting veterans to mental health and MST resources
- Helping with job readiness, resume writing, and placement
- Offering financial literacy, credit repair, and budgeting guidance
- Assisting with housing navigation and VA loan education
What makes LLH different is our belief in meeting veterans where they are—whether they need advocacy, mentorship, or just someone to walk them through the process.
Our long-term vision is to establish transitional housing exclusively for female veterans and their families, where they can heal, rebuild, and prepare for a stable future. Through safe housing, tailored services, and a trauma-informed approach, LLH is creating a bridge to independence for women who served.

Our Story
Stories & experiences
Louisiana Lavender House was founded to close the gap in veteran support services—especially for female veterans and their families who often go underserved. Our founder, Sonita Odoms, a proud U.S. Army veteran, recognized the absence of female-centered resources during her own transition to civilian life.
Today, we use that experience to guide our mission: providing compassionate, hands-on support that empowers all veterans to reclaim stability, dignity, and purpose. From benefits navigation to mental health referrals and financial coaching, we stand alongside those who served—committed to helping them rebuild and thrive.
